First off im not comercial. I did this as a favor for my boss last year after work for some OT. Ive got it pretty well done now. I need some newer pics, ill get them.

Anyway I need to build a big long wall conecting 2 beds so he can fill it in some and change around his pond a little.

Thing is theres about 15 feet of fall from the high point of where the wall will starts and where it ends. How do I go about setting my base layer. Do i step it enough to keep one or 2 of the blocks in the ground?

with this wall here I dug the damn trench out the whole way and made it completely level on the base. Alot of work.
On one end ive got around 6 feet of wall burried.

Using Diamond wall stones, around 70lbs each

Yes, you can step up the base course as need be to save digging and extra blocks. Keep at least a full course buried at all times and you shoudl be fine.

Also, if you didn't already know, it's perfectly fine to step down the top course too, if you need to. But you probably already know that.

Anything over 4-5 courses in hieght, you probably need geogrid for.

Where are you located in IN?

    Morgan Co,

ive got geogrid on the back wall only,

It steps down a couple times. The bottom and middle bed are done up with stones the size of winsor wall but as tall as diamond, can't remember the name now.
