Have a customer with a 27.5 K sqft centipede lawn. Tons of weeds - those are mostly taken care of now - will have them completely under control by may/june. Ring nematodes beyond tolerance and large patch. Applying the systemic fungicide to the large patch and dollar spot this weekend, taking it easy on the nitrogen in late may in the large patch areas, but the nematodes...oh, the nematodes. Obviously can't use a nematacide on a residential lawn.....some of the centipede is dead - not coming back...thinking about ripping it out to include a 10 foot perimeter (they ain't in the dead stuff anymore), fresh top soil, some organic matter - perhaps a biological nematacide - and a more nematode tolerant turf seed or sod...probably sod. Anyhow, any suggestions or experience with this that may help? Bermuda and zoysia may be options, but am willing to absorb any good gouge from anyone who's had this big of a problem before...ThanksQ

Well, just an update from the huge response (yeah, that's sarcasm!) The fungicide application was done, a 2nd application in late May is scheduled. Will be dethatching the dead centipede and seeding Bahiagrass in the dead areas. Bahiagrass is extremly disease tolerant and should fill in nicely by August. Hopefully this lawn will turn around and look beautiful by this time next year. Routine Fertilization and related services still scheduled...will post before and after photos in August when the Bahia is sprouted and filled in.
