Do any of you guys/gals belong to business networking groups (ie. BNI, Chamber, etc.)?? Do you find these groups beneficial? Do you see alot of referrals from them?

I belong to my town Chamber of commerce, I also am an active participate in my towns business development & exchange group. We meet once a week before work and do our thing. I've met a lot of people this way and it really helps get your name out there. Most people are similiar in mindset (small biz owner) and understand how you operate. I do have a few "corporate" people in the group, and they're always the harder ones to work for.

Our group is limited to one company per trade industry, however our definitions of trades is very loose.

All and all it is a great way to get your name out there, and it also tuned me into several other events that I wouldn't have known about previously, like wine tasting events, sidewalk sales, town festivals. These are all places you can get out there and sell yourself.
