I'm looking at a new 2004 or 2005 Toro Z557 27HP Kohler with 60" Turboforce deck. The dealer has both a new 2005 model and a leftover new (0 hours) 2004 same model. The only difference between the machines is that the '05 comes with a 2 year warranty and the '04 only has a 1 year warranty (from date of purchase).

What do you think would be a reasonable price to pay for the '04 model if I could get the '05 for $7,400 or so? Would $7,000 be reasonable? To high? To low? Or should I avoid the '04 altogether and just get the '05'.

    Thanks.

go for the 2005 with the two year warranty. 2 yrs of commercial use is a long time. you never know what part will flunk out.

For $400 I would go for the newer mower every time, but if you can get a $1,000 price break then the 04 looks good.

Yeah 400 is not that big of a price break when you are losing a years worth of warranty. You going through Whener?
