ok im sure its been done before but here goes:
i am in the market for a new or used aerator
i do not want one that will kill the operator IE-bluebird, husqvarna, ect.
i of course don't want to kill the bank either.
i cannot spend 8000 on a ride on. and need to fit through a 36" gate.
i am thinking : Ryan V, Lawn solutions walk behind, turfco aerator 20, tufco aerator pro-26 , turfAer 4
i would like to keep the price down so i would like used if possible but if i have to buy new so be it.
please help with choice and give me prices. Long Island NY
:clapping: oh and just to make it even more difficult i need to make this happen within the next 4 weeks.
i must be mental today because i cannot see any equipment on lesco/john deere website... i get to aerators and renevators and get no further......just one of those days!!!
hey eastcoast i sent you a message today... how was lawn solutions to deal with? did you use a local dealer? if so who? how much was it? any problems with the unit?
thanks so much
Lawn Solutions were great to deal with... purchased directly from them.
I purchased the (slit seeder) Turf Revitalizer 9hp, not the aerator and I received it about 7-8 days after ordering it from them (late Feb 2010).... FedEx Freight was also great. I used it on Sunday to test dethatching my lawn and the results were great! I will be seeding once it starts to warm up.
The new hydro walk-behind turf aerifier cost $3,500 + $125 shipping.
Again great to deal with them.... highly recommeded.
Speak to Josh or David the owner... David is always on the forum.
thanks so much! im leaning towards the lawn solutions walk behind.
i just don't want to spend so much if i don't have to.
anyone have a used one for sale?
One problem I have with ordering anything heavy like that freight is you need a hilo or something to lift it off the freight truck with. Eliminates a lot of small business owners from considering the purchase.
Companies like Lawn Solutions, Turfo et all need a dealer network where people can pick up their machines without those concerns.
Sales would increase tremendously I would imagine.
LT Rich is getting a local dealer network in place and other manufacturers need to as well.
I don't know what options are available to people without lifting equipment. Ship it somewhere where they have a Hi Lo? Pick it up at the freight terminal?
SeedPro,
That may be true, but Lawn Solutions went the extra mile and paid for the liftgate service from FedEx. I purchase mine for residential use, delivered to my home and FedEx actually delivered to my garage 100ft from the truck, since technically they only needed to drop it off at the curb. Once it's off the truck you could easily remove it from the crate in about 5 minutes.
So again great experience with Lawn Solutions an FedEx. Posted via Mobile Device
The lawn solutions machine is the way to go. I purchased the wb last spring, it ran a few hundred more than the others, but its a far superior aerator.
hello all just wondering if anyone actually owns a lawn solutions walk behind hydro aerator? also why did you choose lawn solutions over Turfco TurfAer 4 or 6?
thanks again
I bought the Lawn Solutions wb last fall. Paid $3250+ $125 freight directly from them. I mentioned that I did not have any way to get it off the truck, so "they" went the extra mile and sent it out Fed Ex with a lift gate at no extra charge.
I had 2 small problems with mine.
The throttle lever lost it's tension and had to be replaced under warranty...a simple 10 minute fix that I did myself.
The second one was the depth adjusting bolts. One of them snapped off, and was a ***** to replace. This is not easily done in the field, so be careful when tighting down...don't over tighten. I think in this case it was a defective bolt, as I only snugged it tight.
Hands down the best aerator I have used. The drum aerators have their place, but they will beat you up as the day goes by...lifting the tines up, dropping the tines down...up down up down, you get the picture. The lawn solutions wb aerates in reverse, a big selling point, so you only need to raise the tines when going over hard surfaces.
I doubt that you'll find any used one's...their just to new. Bite the bullet and buy one, you won't regret it.
Just for the record, im still running my lawn solutions aerator! Heading into the eighth season with this machine, all i have done is engine pm, adjusted the hydro drive from time to time and replaced the belt and pulley!
