    On a side note- Have you herd any good or bad about the bradco mulching units. Im looking at one on a cat 297c fully loaded , low low hours.

    I did notice some resemblence, RSG gave me the idea for front page we spent an hour faxing ideas back and forth and came up with that format, so I guess what goes around comes. :drinkup:

    ksss- I told Rock about the site as well and he mentioned you two worked on yours for awhile. I believe I thanked him, but if not, Thanks Rock! :drinkup:

    TSS- If I had to buy another mulching head, I would strongly consider the Bradco. I haven't heard bad things about them and have demoed a couple myself, one on a Case 465 skid and the other on a Deere CT332. On the Deere, it got bound up with material that I think my T320 and Fecon re-branded Bobcat mulcher would have shredded. Not sure if that was due to the difference in horsepower between the machines, but it still seemed like a good mulcher. I would like to try it on my machine to really see the difference.

    Long story short- it sounds like you might have a good deal there if the 297C is in good shape. I'm still leery on the ASV style undercarriage and it's longetivity in land clearing work. The ride is great, but the durability isn't there from what I have seen and heard. Just something to keep in mind.

    We had a 287C that was mainly used to run a radial mower and the grapple bucket. It was traded in around 1000 hours and the tracks would have lasted maybe another 200 hours. The real killer was we had the deal setup to trade it in on a Monday so the Friday before I was mowing my own property and the final drive went out. It ended up being a $3,000 repair I really wish I would have waited to mow my property with the new machine. :hammerhead: The only other complaint I had about that machine was the AC The condenser will end up filling up with dirt and getting pin holes so thats another $1200 repair.

    Thanks Shawn. I'm sure many have had good experiences with the ASV undercarriage. I ran one for a month when I first started out and could see many benefits to the machine. On the other hand, the other mowing crew with me on site here had to remove a piece of delaminated track from their ASV RC100 yesterday to keep the rest of the track from ripping apart. That machine has 700 something hrs on it, but has been run hard with many different operators.

    TSS- I'm hoping to get my truck cleaned up soon and get some pics that are website worthy.

    How does the bobcat go in the snow? The RSV's are supposed to be decent, but the tracks look a lot less rugged than the bobcat tracks, they look more like mini ex tracks.

    As long as there is no layer or ice or slush under the snow, the T320 does fine.

    It's funny, the ASV tracks actually do better in the snow than the Bobcat tracks due to the lugs on the track. My next set of tracks will have a pattern similar to the ASV's. It's just that that ASV tracks seem to get torn up faster in the terrain I work on than CTL tracks of any pattern.
