what are you using the deere for?
I think we were alittle bit high on the flow to the head and it was taking to much away from the swing on the Machine. If we had some more time on it we could have set it up properly. Give me a heads up when you want to try one on a 160 and Nelson and I will bring one to you.
VT, Nice! Where about are you working? Looks like NE Kingdom. Also I was wondering for the more grass like stuff you mow some times wouldn't a cheapo tractor with a 8ft brushog or 12-15' batwing make you a lot more money? I suppose the terrain is just to rough.
Mowen- ah yes, that was you then who was out there with the mulcher? I'm still disappointed my friend never purchased the mulcher. Oh well. Thanks for the compliments on the pics! I will let you know on the 160. I'm hoping sometime next year the way things keep going. Nice to see you on here!
Craaig- the Deere is on site for the moment as my support machine for pulling my trackloader out when it gets stuck. I'm going to mount a 40" mower on it soon for additional brush clearing options.
Riverwalk- I'm working my way to Burke, VT. I'm in the Victory Basin wildlife reserve at the moment. A tractor would be nice in some areas, but I don't need to mow all the grassy material on this project. And yes, though the pics don't show it, the terrain is... interesting. There are rocks all over the place, and alot of times are covered by grass/ferns/ small vegetation. A batwing would get killed within a half mile out here (if it could even make it that far).
What are you using the deere for? Not just and anchor right?
Are you missing the top window guard on your 50D?
And did you get your mower ordered for the mini?
I would 3 way the plumbing at the end of the boom for the thumb and mower.
Minimax- I'm missing all the guards on the machine. Is the top window guard standard? I know I will be having guarding added to it when I get the mower (hoping to sign the purchase papers in the next few weeks, the mower will be 4-6 wks out from that point in time).
In regards to the 3-way plumbing, what does that do? I want to be able to run the thumb with the mower on the end of the stick to move brush. Is this possible? I know the US Mower is supposed to have a check valve in it to prevent the thumb from collapsing while using the mower.
If you could give some guidance on the best way to plumb the machine I would appreciate it! PM me or post here- doesn't matter to me.
Matt- haha, no. Not just an anchor. It will be getting a mower soon.
Mowen- I forgot to say earlier, but I sent an email to the address you have listed in your signature.
if you're ever clearing in NH and need another operator let me know!
ARP-been reading your threads for a while now and want to say congrats and keep up the great work! Are you a sub up there or are you working directly for the utility company? Down here in SC it seems you have to be a big ROW maint company to get any work from the utility company....how is up there?
