How many sharpenings or hours do you usually get out of a set of blades but you ditch them? I have been through three sets of blades with about 245 hours on my machine.

Another note: I put on a new set of Toro High Lift Blades yesterday. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I have been using the stock medium lift blades. The new high lift blades left a much better cut and cut clippings better as well. I will never go back.

When you start grinding into the wing. Then its time to replace them.

Usually when we have ground off about 1/2", it seems to be time to replace them. Also, depending on the mower and blades, as the blades get ground down the mower may start to stripe. If in doubt, just replace the blades.

I agree. About 1/2 inch is all you are going to get. All the grass does not seem to get cut either when the blades are wearing down.
