i have a client that is building a new home. i offered a bid on the complete landscape and he told me all he wanted was just the grade, top soil and grass. soooooo whats the bet way to figure this out and give a good bid? by the way he will be taking his landscape in stages scince he thinks he will be tight on cash in the end. open to all sugestions and insight on this one.

by the sq ft for seeding by the yd for topsoil, and by the hr for grading.
Tell him you will bring in top and form the beds since you have the equipment there and he can plant when he gets the $$$ then work the soil etc after the beds are made and seed the lawn area. Don't know the Going rate for seeding in your area so can't help there.
