I bought a 717A last May, and used it part-time for until mid-October. It only has 250 service hours. I am very pleased with the machine, both as a piece of equipment, and the quality of result. Many of my properties have sloping terrain, and I needed some time to learn where it would go, where I shouldn't take it, and what I needed to leave for my w/b machine.

What is the piece on the foot platform? It looks like a 2X4, or some other block across the width of the platform. What is the purpose?

I wish you well with your new mower. I hope you are as pleased with your choice as I am with mine.

That block almost looks like it was used for shipping purposes maybe?
