i was wondering if when a lawn is overseeded and the new grass is coming up don't you injure the new blades when you are mowing the existing turf?

sharp mowing blade, proper mowing height for that particular turf type, regular watering schedule. with proper cultural practices mowing shouldnt cause the new seedling stress that the new seedling cant bounce back from.

Mowing new grass at about 2" for the 1st couple of mowings also promotes tillering or filing in of the new grass. After the 1st couple of mowings return to your regular height.
