That is very interesting. I'll be curious how they price it.

The way I heard it, Navistar was having Cat make the 15L block that they then put their fuel system and AEGR on. Gives Navistar a big boy for the OTR class 8 crowd, and compliments their existing MaxxForce engine line, which are all in-house designed and produced.

Nope. Cat has gotten totally out of the engine business for on-highway trucks.
Their last series of engines for big trucks was a total disaster. The Peterbilt factory here in town, had many trucks with failed Cat engines, hauled back to the factory, and retrofitted them with Cummins engines. All this was under warranty, and Cat had to eat most, if not all the cost. Cat threw in the towel on truck engines for highway use.

I read that and I like the line 'it will sell at a premium', just what the market needs - another over priced truck. I thought the Ford or Dodge was overpriced.

In another article it sounds like four wheel drive is coming and a six speed automatic.

I'd love to have one of these trucks, but I can guarantee it won't be cheap compared to a Ford f-450 or 550. Looks to me like International is going after some of Ford's business now that their partnership is over. It's a nice way to use all those 6.4 engines as well now that Ford doesn't need them.
