    Hello to all, I have a few questions,any input would be appreciate it,
    I have a briggs 14.5 model 287707 type 024701
    I have removed the head and noticed no oil seal on the exhaust valve,the intake has a seal.is this correct

    That's correct Brad, No seal is required on the exhaust side.....

    thanks restorob,the aluminum push rod is intake correct

    cant tell if this engine has compression release

    Aluminum is the intake and it doe's have a compression release on the camshaft, While watching the intake valve (lower one) close it should re-open slightly just before the piston gets to TDC compression stroke. Here's the proper valve adjustment procedure on this engine;
