I have a 52 " skagg walk behind that is about 15 years old.The motor,a Kohler, 18 horse, twin cylinder magnum motor finally blew up last fall.I am looking for a replacement motor, preferebly an 18 horse, twin cylinder,OHV motor.Does anyone have any feedback on an 18 horse, singe cylinder motor?I do not want to put a 20 horse motor in order to keep costs down as its an old machine. Also,do kawasaki and kohler motors have the same bolt pattern?

If price is your concern, buy the least expensive TWIN cylinder - you will thank me later.:usflag:

By the way, it is a SCAG - not skagg.:hammerhead:

I put a single cylinder 18HP Kohler on my unit but didn't have a starter. The unit was just too hard to start with rope starter...so get starter on it.
