I had a 2cycle toro go down today. I can either replace the engine with a honda 4 cylcle for w/ 6.5 horsepower non commercial unit for $350, or buy a new toro for $1000. The mower is about 6 seasons old, but the deck is still in good shape. The mechanic said I should get 2 or 3 years out of a new motor. If I knew how much longer I was going to keep the business I would probably buy new. What do you guys think?

I would replace the motor, as it's no good to sell without a motor, plus you can use it until you figure out what your doing business wise. Good luck !!

You can still buy the Suzuki short block through Toro for ~$300
