Is it worth buying a new 10k mower or buying a 4k mower that has 800-1200 hours on it? I currently have a 1200 hour JD 757 which has been a good mower outside of a few repairs. I figure I could sell it for 3k and possibly invest in a new mower or a used mower with less than 500 hours. What would you guys do?

    Thanks

I prefer to buy new. I know what I'm getting.

I only buy equipment new. My way of caring for equipment is different from the previous person. Just the warranty in itself is worth the cost in my opinion. But not everyone has the finance or cash flow for that. Only you can decide it you can afford to purchase new. I run John Deere ztr and tractors.

Scag has no interest for 3-4 years.

I almost always buy new. The exception was an aerator that was barely used. The Warranty, newest technology, and in my opinion, new, clean, well maintained equipment looks more professional.

Would you buy a used rental car? I don't trust what other people's employees did to it. Plus, for tax reasons, I like to have dealer receipts and a paper trail.
