I picked up a new Robin string trimmer today. A buddy of mine showed me his yesterday. I couldn't't believe how much lighter is was than my Echo!

Now if I can get rid of the bump and go head and the guard on the Robin it will really feel light!

    It is a 2050.

I weighed it and my Echo. The Robin is 4.5 lbs lighter.

I have the Dolmar MS20 straight shaft, which I believe is the same machine. The weight is great and so far it works quite well. The head that came on it, however, is junk.

the robin/dolmar is only 8#, but it's not commercial duty. Still a nice trimmer though. The Husqvarna 326ls and it's commercial duty and shaft driven. Only 9#!!

    *There's also the Husqvarna 326LS.

Sorry, sometimes my iPhone posts are incoherent. It's kinda hard to message board on the iPhone.

I meant to say MS 22C. There are so many model numbers attached to equipment it gets confusing.

So the flex cable doesn't mean its not quality. The stihl FS80 is cable and how many thousands of those do you think are riding around with LCOs?
