I was in Sears the other day looking at tools and I just happen to notice something in the mower section. It was a pull behind stripe kit. Its 48" wide and you can fill it with sand for weight. I think with a liitle modification, it could fit on a Z turn machine. At $70 bucks, hell if it didn't work not that much of a waste of money.

i wonder if i could modify one to fit a w/b without the operator having to trip over it. it would work for me if i could tuck it in right behind the back tires. if anyone buys one and modifies it, let me know.

Why not just take off the rear scalp wheels on your deck, buy a piece of pipe, knock in some tapered bearings and run a piece of all thread all the way through. Put it in the adjustment holes for your rear deck whells and off you go..it's not exactly rocket science to flatten grass.

i bought one yesterday, returning it today, it would never hold up to daily use, all it is, is a 3" pvc pipe with plastic caps on the ends, and a steel rod going thru the middle of it, cap one end and fill with sand, cap the other then mount the tow bars,(pipes) it would be hard to modify & harder to keep in operating condition being made with plastic caps, I scraped the idea and will move on to something else.

ya, i pulled it out of the box, saw the plastic end caps and tube frame, shoved it back in the box & resealed it, didn't get up that way today so I'll return it before the weekend.

I baught one from Lowes and had it fitted to my 48 " walk behind. It works great, but I need to be carefull with it. I'm working on a better design.
