Im running a 02 1 Ton Dodge quad cab 4x4. The tire are 265 75r 16. Im switching to 285s. I cant decide between ATs or MTs. Any opinions? I want the muds. but I know its not practical. but 285s are not practical either. anyone know the milage loss? any input would be great.

I have a set of BFG ATs on my truck. I do not notice that much of a difference in fuel mileage or power. I know for a fact that the ATs wear a hell of a lot better than the MTs. If you get the MTs be prepared to rotate them religiously.

Is the Dodge A diesel? if it is some guy's say they get a bit better mpg out of 285's than they do 265's. If you can keep a cummins under 2000rpm's cruising you will get better MPG, some guys do better with 265's. Unless your running in mud a lot I would stick with A/T's Mudder's just wear out to fast.
