My son and I are venturing beyond residential mowing we have been doing for a couple of years. The first commercial opportunity put in our hands turn out to be scary. It is a chain of stores in our area. The contract basically puts everything in our lap. Sprinkler heads, shrub repacement, mow, chem & fert. The contract fee being discussed seemed fair UNTIL I began to understand they intend to have us supply all mulch, replacement shrubs, chem & fert as part of that fee. No additional budget. Actually no provisions for Act of God, vandelism, theft. Am I about to get burned or is this typical??

  2. Yeah, you could get burned, AND that is typical.
I'm always very suspicious of purchasing agents/buyers etc.
I never sign their contract. Get your own.
