My new Toro rider's belt was slipping today in the rain. I almost ended up in the ditch one time. I would lose power in one or both wheels, but I don't think the blades were losing power. I can't remember if they're on the same belt. If I pushed the lever in reverse then back in forward, it would catch and be alright for a second then fade out again. My mechanic said he never heard of this problem since there is 110 lbs on the idler spring.

    Any suggestions?

Just an idea but take off the rear wheel and check to make sure the key is still in the axle on both sides. We got in brand new mower before that the wheels had be put on with the key.
