Hi all, completely new to hardscaping. Customer had a question. She has a small pation 4x3 maybe coming out her back door. She would like to make it a flagstone patio now. Is it possible to attach flagstone to a concrete patio? An then grout it also?

    thanks in advance

It's possible. Just inform the customer of the fact the patio is only as good as it's base. If the concrete cracks/moves so will the flagstone patio. I usually will only overlay a thicker slab of concrete that is past the point of settling (4-5 years old minimum).

Here's a recent example of a job we did with EP Henry Devon Stone. Devon Stone is a synthetic flagstone look. However, the product has a lifetime guarantee. We used construction adhesive to attach the pieces along the edge then dry laid the middle sections and used polymeric sand for the joints. You could also mortar or grout the joints. We prefer to have the flex of poly sand.[IMG]
