Does anybody have any expirience with them? I have used Toro since I started, but the dealer has recently changed hands and I don't always see eye to eye with the guy. In 2006 I demo'd a 757 60" for Turf Magazine. The machine itself was very nice, but I didn't think that it did as well in deep/thick grass as my other Toros. However, they have been pretty much totally redesigned since then. I see they are now calling the deck 7 iron PRO vs. 7 Iron II like the one I used.

They sure are impressive to look at, but I'm wondering about the decks performance. The model I'm considering is the Z920A. 60" with a 26hp Kaw. Any feedback would be great!

EDIT: I'm looking for info on the newer 2008+ model years. Not older 737, 757, 777, et. al. I've used those machines before.

I've got a 2010 Z925 with the 54" Mulch-on-Demand deck. It has been a great mower. The PRO decks they have out now are awesome, they are obviously updated with improved baffles and air flow.

I've used both the Turbo Force deck from toro (I'm actually quoted on Toro's website about it's performance) and the John Deere 7ironPRO decks. They are both great decks, but I liked the 7iron better because it striped better.

John Deere's 900 series is definately a very good machine. I highly recommend that you at least demo one. Also, you may want to step up to a larger engine with the 60" deck. I think the 26hp will do fine in normal conditions, but if you get into wet, thick and long grass you will want a little more power. The 925 or 930 would be a good choice, either 27hp or 29hp.

we have a Z950 with the 7-iron pro deck and the thing is amazing.....short from a few divots while mowing in wet conditions the machine is outstanding and you are going to see those divots with any commercial zero turn. The hydros are responsive and smooth, the side hill stability is impressive and the cut is the best on the market in my opinion in wet or dry grass. And the most important part, the dealer, is part of one of the largest parts networks in the country. You can't ask for much more than that. :usflag:

I like what I'm hearing. Anyone have pictures of lawns / stripes done with the 7 Iron PRO deck?

I have both Z830 and Z950. The Z950 is amazing and can climb on any bank. I just love how nice the cut is. You will love them.

Does the 950 w/ the 31 kaw run your 72" mower with adequate power? Too, heard so many bad things about the larger block Kaw engine, has yours been dependable and how many hours do you have on it. Lastly, do you run the suspension seat. Sorry for so many questions, but as expensive as these are, I like to get as much info as possible from actual experience. All my present equipment is JD, but on my next ZTR I am going to consider other brands, especially with suspension options. Thanks in advance for any comments you might have.

I have two 930s and a 925 both 60" but the 930 are MOD. I have been in business 12 years and used to run exmark until the triton decks came out. Since then I have ran nothing but deere. When I switched I demoed every brand out there from grasshopper, ferris, scag, chopper etc.. I settled on deere because the cut quality was as good if not better than exmark and the dealer support was amazing. I first bought 777s with 60" and then 5 830s and now I have what I told you. I wouldn't run anything but deere. Amazing machine this 900 series is. I wouldn't go anything less than a 925 for a 60" deck. Remember you are cutting at 12 mph and pulling high lift blades that take a lot of power. I know what you will say I never cut at 12 mph but what if you are almost done with a property and it starts pouring rain you will want that extra power so you can fly around and get it done. Like others have said demo and see what works for you. My 925 is a awesome machine but I will never buy anything again unless it is MOD!!!
