I got my bcz2401 string trimmer in June and noticed the other day it is not Strato-Charged so does that technically make it a older one,

I have never heard of a non strato 2401. Pull off the filter housing and see if the carb has two holes. If I remember right the "Z" in the BCZ means it is a strato.

Then it is a 100% pure bred Strato. If I remember right their is only a few Redmaxs' that are non-strato any more. If it has a "Z" in the model # it is a Srato.

You are correct. The TR2300 is a non strato unit. They have another home-owner series trimmer to that is standard. But the Z in the model # means its strato charged... (In a way, I think it also means its doomed.) So many issues with those strato trimmers around here. If I could find a couple BC 225DL's, I'd snatch them up in a heart beat!

    Just a crazy question.

The scavenger port mainly suck a shot of dry air to separate the exhaust gas and the fresh mix to prevent the mix from going directly to the exhaust before burning. Anyone try plugging the air port of the carb and see whether it can run??

    Just some crazy idea!!!
