Next question/moss attack

    Moss is starting to invade my yard.What can I do to get rid of it and keep it from coming back?

    first, eliminate the shade source. second, fertilize regularly. third, apply Quicksilver. fourth, repeat all of the above.

    Moss grows in areas that receive little to no sunlight AND stay some kind of moist for longer periods of time. Eliminating what causes the shade may be the easy solution, it may not be...

    One thing that tends to promote the growth of moss is watering in the afternoon / evenings...
    If you do this, consider switching to an early morning watering schedule.

    Moss can also be an indicator of low soil ph, so a soil test and then perhaps some lime would help in this regard.
