NJ Seeding?

    Up until today I was done with our seeding schedule. But had 4 call's for quotes. Was wondering what the rest of ya guy's think about late seeding?

    When do you say when?

    If the customer asks for it I see no reason not to...NJ you should be able to seed into the 3rd week of November and still obtain germination. Even if it is done later, it would be considered dormant seeding. I have hydroseeded in January as that is what the client wanted.

    Ron, you will have no problem seeding now. Especially with the temps and sun this week. Depending on what seed you put down, your germination will be a bit slower because of the over night temperatures. As long as you can keep the seed moist it will germinate fine and lead to a healthy lawn in the spring. As SodKing said, we can seed till Thanksgiving, typically and still get decent germination. If you are working in that clay soil around you, make sure you aerate and slice seed.
