This may sound stupid, but does anyone know of a " copy safe" paper?? Something that would prevent the holder from making a photocopy, say of a bid proposal or estimates? Something that may turn dark, preventing it from being copied or be able to let you know someone tried to copy it without your permission???

Thanks, man. Exactly what I was looking for. We lost a 42K bid this spring to an apartment complex who calls each year for quotes. I have them sign a design disclaimer , which states they may make no unauthorized copies of any part of the estimate / proposal , until a deposit and signed agreement are in order. I want to make sure nothing gets handed to another LCO or they keep a copy in their files for future reference. I felt like I did all the work, and they handed it over to another LCO I know,who wasn't even closely prepared for the job. He didn't admit to being privy to all my measurements and such, but I have a good idea he did. Needless to day, he is way over his head, and having problems getting paid from them as well.Karma, baby...gotta love it..Just want to safeguard future arrangements...Thanks again, dude!

Just make sure before you order that paper you read all disclaimers. I noticed that some are just to keep lazer printers from being able to make copies, and under others it states (and I quote);

A document security paper such as New Generation Document Security Paper that contains a "hidden message"
security feature, may be duplicated on some photo copiers
without the words "VOID" showing up on the copy."

"Remember .... There is nothing in the world that can prevent a document
from being copied on a photo copier. The reason you use Document Security
Paper is to prevent ACCURATE duplication of a document. This is a method
to insure you can identify the original from the copy."

"Note: A copy of a document printed on Gold Security is not guaranteed to turn black on every copier. However when photocopied, Gold Security will make it more difficult to read the photocopied text and images."

Those statements are copied from their website, and I would have a hard time justifying paying those prices if they can't give me any guarentees.
