I bought a house last year and haven't got around to dealing with this pond. I'm not sure what to do with it. I'm concerned that the white paint may hurt any fish. Am i right about that? I'm also thinking about just filling it in, but would like to know how to do that. Do i need to crush or fill that drain pipe with a certain material? Jack hammer it? Any tips are appreciated.

Your drain pipe is an over flow simply cap it towards the bottom break up the bottom concrete n sides and bury it in place is the easiest way or break up n haul away. You cannot just fill it in with dirt or you will create a wetland area next to your house it has to be broken up

So cut overflow lower, cap it, then break it up? Or, break up first, then cap? Never done anything like this.

Cut down first n cap to prevent debris from going down hole. Then tear out
