Any tree pro's have an answer to what's attacking all of the oaks here in central/southern Ohio? Leaf dieback to 50-75% of foliage, widespread. I'm guessing maybe this is pathogenic rather than a specific pest? That's only a guess, though, and I know that often those two go hand in hand. Anyone have ideas about this?

It's been quite a year for diseases after all the rain we've had in the midwest. Funny you posted this thread, because I was traveling today and noticed what looked to be giant oaks with some nasty leaves on them throughout the canopy. It was only one or two though.

Do the leaves look like they've had any insect damage??

I'll try to post some pics, but any Ohio area pros have input on this? As bad and widespread as I'm seeing this, others must be looking into it as well.
