There is no doubt that OCDC's are a great thing on certain properties. It seems as though there is not a single mfg. that makes a universal mount to meet the needs of all commercial mowers. How many of you have created your own OCDC by welding a sleeve to your existing deck?

If so, do you have any pics?

On my first OCDC, I took the existing discharge chute and
bolted sheet metal to the inside so when it was down the opening was blocked. Then attached a piece of vinyl coated wire
so I could open or close it when I wanted to, also replaced the
existing bolts with threaded rod so it would open and close real
easy. It worked great, and cost about $5.00.

you mean your not going to support york sheet metal co?
I just a check for the Director, to mount on my lazer.
if it works ok, then i'll buy one for other lazer.
But I'm all for $5 if it does the job

That was my first ocdc for my 48lazer z hp. York Sheet did not offer the director for it yet. Last winter they used my 48" to
do the design work for the director for that size mower. So now
I have one on my 48" and have since bought a 60" lazer and
have one on it too, worth every penny.

Now I remember reading your recent post. That was the main reason I went w/ York [ director ] I checked out the others,
the Director seemed better, not to mention it looks like lazer z
    standard equipment.........Thanks!

Hey, that's basically what we do! I think you owe me $5.00. Actually, you will save your $5.00 if you just cut and bend the discharge shut down, and attach the wire/rope to that.

Oh, also, do a search. There should be a ton of threads on this in the archive.

Buy the Director from York Sheet Metal. I have one on my Exmark LZ HP and don't know how I got by before without it. Buy something professionally fabricated.......you won't regret it.
