Just changed oil in the Turf Tiger.

    Manual calls out 1.75 quarts.

I put in 2 quarts each change.

    Use Amsoil 4-Stroke, 10W30.

The difference is about 12.5% more oil. Does it matter if there is a little more oil in the crankcase?

It matters to the head gasket over time.

Head gasket? How would an overfill affect that?

I could believe seals in the lower end could be stressed, but a head gasket?

chance of spark plug fouling, excessive smoke, seal issues, excessive carbon build up on piston and head etc etc etc
