Just changed the oil in my new 48" Lazer z 21hp a week ago. Now I have a oil leak from the oil drain plug. What is up with this.

    jswcar,

I've not heard of many drain valve issues recently. The valve iself only requires "snugging" up and doesn't require a great deal of pressure when tightening. It is possible that some form of debris or contaminant from the crankcase was caught in the valve when closing but that's in theory only. I have not hear of this ever happening. If this is the case there is a good chance that on the next oil change the forign particle will be flushed through the valve.

I also talked with one of our engineers. It is possible to overtighten the valve which can damage it and depending upon how old the unit is it's also possible to wear one out.

    Thanks

    Terry
