hi. i have a 2001 super z with a 25 horse v-twin Kawasaki on it with 2,xxx hours on it. I went out one day to mow and the oil level was way up, i figured i may have over filled it, and drained some off,and mowed. no big deal right? the next day i went out, and it was over full again, we changed the oil, figuring there was water in it and it had expended with heat, bringing the oil level up. that solved the over full problem, but when we changed the oil, i noticed that the o-ring where the dipstick goes into the motor was shot, so i replaced it. that was a little over a week ago. i have put maybe 15-20 hours on it since then and i notgiced today the o-ring is shot (lose fitting) again? why would this be? thanks for any help, devin.

It sounds like your carburetor is leaking gas into the base of your engine increasing your oil level and diluting your oil.
The ethanol in the fuel may be what caused your o-ring to fail.

You will be able to smell it in the oil and notice the thinner oil.
There is no other explanation for the higher oil level unless it was overfilled.
