what is the best brand of oil to use in a mower?
Is it a Ford or chevy?
Mobil 1 is pretty popular. I dont run synthetic in my vehicles as a rule, but I feel more comfortable using it in an air cooled engine.
Lot of personal preference here. Mobil 1 full synthetic has served me very well for decades in a large assortment of engines.

I run Shell Rotella in everything I own. That way it's simple and foolproof if any engine needs oil. Got a Honda on one mower and Kawasaki on another with 2340 and 2650 hours on them that have had a Rotella diet since new.
I don't believe brand is as important as using the proper weight called for by the engine manufacturer and keep it CLEAN.
