Old Farmer's Almanac Is a Marketing Wonder

    Many people swear by the weather predictions made by the Old Farmer's Almanac. I say it's hogwash but great marketing (think Pet Rock). Would love to hear what you think.

    I agree that it's a total waste, but your not going to convince a whole bunch of old timer's of that. Planting by the moon phase just doesn't get it done. But someone IS getting rich off of that booklet, what's it cost now ...$7.50? And they sell million's of those thing's, every year.

    In defense of the almanac, there are many interesting articles in it. Worth the read.

    Horoscope books are big sellers too. Same thing in my book - predicting the future is best left to Kreskin the Magnificent

    The novelty factor is there in full force but Russell is correct, there are many more things in the book than just planting/weather predictions. I buy this each year for my husbands stocking and we all enjoyed it last year as a family with some of the 'other' stuff they have in it.
