I am looking at an 18 ft enclosed trailer and it is a '94. It looks similar to newer ones but has ribbed or corrugated sides. Are the older ones a lot heavier than the new ones, for some reason it just looks heavy. It is a united express or something like that. It seems to be a good trailer just a little ugly with the corrugated sheeting, but i am mostly concerned with it being a lot heavier or something different that they have changed or updated on the newer models.

Check out the vin plate and compare to newer models. A 16' enclosed (Wells Cargo) wieghs 7700 lbs. Looking at it, just might purchase.

Your looking at the GVW the weight of the trailers capacity including weight of trailer. If it weighs 7700 pounds you couldn't put anything in it.LOL A newer 16 foot probably weighs a little under 2000 lbs.

Our 16' weigh in at 2200 empty. 18' are 2400.
