How long would it take two men to install mulch 2" thick and with the mulch in the driveway (10 yards ) what do you think ? I think it would take 12 hrs.

depends on how far the mulch is from where you are placing it.. if it's a typical smaller residential and the pile isn't to far away, I can do about 2 yards per hour. So 10 yards of mulch b/w 2 people working efficiently shouldn't take you more then 3 hours. unless its detailed/on a hill, then it'll take a bit longer..

12 hrs damn. We did a 12 yard job last week took 4 hrs cleaning and prepping the beds then only 2 hrs to spread. That's just two guys. We were in and out in 6 hrs and made a sweet profit.

That is about 135 2cf bags. So you are saying your guys can only move 11 bags per hour???? There are important facts left out such as how far the mulch has to be carted and how far you have to drive to get the mulch. I always use bagged mulch. The cost is not that much different and is actually more cost effective because you do not have to fork the stuff into the wheel barrel. ON an average I can do 30-40 bags per hour solo. Plus maybe 45 minutes to pick. Home depot will even load it for you:)

i had a 50 yard mulch job last year that i edged weeded and mulched in 13 hours with two guys with the mulch in the bed of the truck.

Could the op have meant 12 man hours? 6 hours each person? that is a little closer

it takes me 7 hours to do 9 yards of mulch by myself. Including the prep work, edging, weeds etc. Should take a lot less with 2 extra guys. If it still takes 12 hours, id find new workers.

My all time record for 10 yards is about a little over 4 hours.
This is spreading dry bark in a flat yard by myself. I was running each load and I was in my twenties. This did not include the prep.
I remember it well because the guy was sitting in his chair and timing me, and I was showing off my fitness. We were both impressed when I finished.

Moving mulch to bed and spreading it for 10 yards...3-4 hours. (not including prep) Get the mulch delivered close to the job site.

Figuring 1 yard per man hour this should take a maximum of 5 hours. If it takes 12 I hope you are charging by the hour for the two guys.
