Thanks fellas. Just finished the test all I can say is wow. Whole test was fill in the blank and essay. I'm pretty confident. Can't wait for my score to come in the mail. Now off to christmas shop.

Still christmas shopping! I was done the first week in Dec! Thats what no snow does to ya! Spend all your money and then wait for the white gold to fall from the sky.

Hope you did well on the exam. Do you have a lot of potential arbor work?

Thanks. I actually have 3 tree jobs lined up for January, and I have a buddy who does dirt work for a bunch of homebuilders and is lokking for someone to sub out his tree work too. I enjoy doing tree work.

Thats awesome. Does it paywell down there. I have had many bids submitted for tree work up here and havent come close on any of them. There are many large companies around me Davey Tree Specialists, JH Hart Urban Forestry, and a bunch of other companies. The big companies are almost always higher than me but the few small companies that are bidding as well are always half of what everyone else is. The big guys are just making a ton of money on the city and gov contracts to clear lines and what not.

For a 50 foot Norway Maple (dead as a door nail) they are going for around 200 to block and stack the large and leave the brush onside. To take it all away it about 100 more.

Took a few days off this week, plus a friend of the family die yesterday. She was only 56, died of Pancreatic cancer. She had just found out about the cancer 3weeks ago. Definitly shows the importance of yearly physicals, and health checks whenever something doesn't feel right.

sorry to hear about that. i've seen people that were perfectly healthy and then a few weeks later were gone because of that cancer. that's bad stuff for sure. my prayers are with you and your family.

I'm lucky and my wife works for the state of Texas so insurance costs for a family of five are low and the deductible is only $25. When your a small company trying to get health insurance or a solo guy the cost can be prohibitive. It would be interesting to know the number of lives lost that were preventative simply due to insurance not being within their reach.

the reality is people would rather have a big screen tv than health insurance. They would rather make a payment to bestbuy than an insurance company.

I have a 5k deductible and an hsa account. Small businesses can put $6250 in an hsa every year tax free.
