Hey guys. I am looking at purchasing either a transit or a laser level and wanted to see what everyones opionions were on the two items. I am sure that they each have their place, but i am looking for the best one to help level my base for my patios and help make sure that my walls are level. Any help is appreciated.

Laser for you, optical if you're going to leave it with the crew and go somewhere :)

how much does a good laser level cost, and what brand would you most recommend. I tend to buy Dewalt everything, but some things don't need to be name brand (ie shovels, condoms, etc.)

    I've been considering this one:

the trade show guy actually bounced it off the floor- this could be a transit I'd actually let my brothers touch. I think the price is in the $1200-1400 range for the full kit (unit, receiver, rod and tripod).

Laser for me also. Whatever brand you get make sure it doesn't have an exposed head on it. We had one of the $400.00 kits from home depot, which worked great until someone bumped or dropped it and the shaft must have bent.
