Out the window with the stock rain cap.

    Well we got caught in a huge downpour the other day and my Z-spray rain cap (spiker) failed miserably. So there goes $80 worth of grub control. Headed home with 100# of merit stew and a bad disposition I thought this must never happen again. Sinced it rained all day I headed for the tools. And this is what I ended up with.

    Even got to TIG a little stainless! It wasn't fun though sweat was roling of my head and hood was even foging up.

    1 question... I see the gasket between the surfaces, Do you think water will still blow/seep in from traveling on an open trailer?

    No. I added a strap going crosswise and it seals down pretty tight.

    Spiker's has there electric broad cast wheel motor inside the hopper. This helps to shake the fertilizer down.
