Overhead allocations

    Hey all!
    New to this board, unless you count "lurking". For any of you with multiple divisions or branches: how do you allocate your overhead or G&A expenses per profit center? Without going whole-hog and all office/administrative/garage personnel doing internal job costing for all of their time, is there a better way than apportioning it by % of gross revenue? Any thoughts would be appreciated...

    Since production labor is where it's at, thats how I do my split. Look at payroll for the departments/divisions as to how the department percentage relates to the whole payroll.
