I want to purchase a tow behind to assist in overseeding acreage with bluegrass/rye. My previous experience has been with walkbehind slit seeders on small properties. This would be used to scarify the soil prior and after rotary seed spreading.

    My choices seem to be:

Spike Aerator-with weight tray or water filled spike drum

    Spike Aerator with seed bin

    Dethatcher-front mount or tow

    JD Thatcherator-claimed dethatcher and aerator

    Plug Aerator

    Chain harrow

Any one with any experiences? Thanks .

I will be towing with either a garden tractor (JD 325) or utility vehicle-kawasaki mule.

I will initially be doing 1.5 acres, with the potential for more this size.
