Would like to get response from anyone that is familiar with the hard, red clay of this mountain area. I maintain (mow) approx. 4 acres of park-like property. The grass is primarily fescue. I would like opinions on whether or not overseeding this much land to produce a plusher, fuller look without aerating would just be a waste of time and money. I have tried using a "spike" type aerator and even with two 80 pound bags of concrete on it the spikes just barely penetrate the clay.
    Thank you,
