    I am doing water and sewer repair for the town.
    Do you guys charge overtime for equipment past a certain hour?
    Just did a job that ran till 9 PM tonight.

    You can charge labour as overtime but your machines hourly rate you can't really double. You tell the city you have a set time say 10 hours. Anything past 10 hours they get charged a say a extra 50 bucks a hour.

    I agree with GR although I have never done that. It seems fair to at least double your labor rate past 8-10 hours whatever your running. I don't think it is fair to double (or 1.5 Xs whatever you run up there) your equipment rate.
