Pain?

    So I'm curious to learn alot about the landscape/lawn care industry and wanted to talk to the ones most involved with the business.

    I'm a web developer and I don't have any client projects lined up at the moment so I wanted to see if I could help you lawn guys with painful parts of your business through the use of software.

    Please don't reply with one-off statements (like "I need a mobile website", etc) I truly want to help but I can only do so if others are willing to offer genuine and honest feedback.

    - "What manual tasks in your daily routine would you like to automate"
    - "What do you spend the most time on but enjoy the least"
    - "Out of everything you did today what was the biggest nuisance"

    Biggest nuisance when the blower went out but then it came back like a champ on the last two houses. Manual task that I would like to automate accounting and billing, most time driving its getting better as I hone in on clients that are with in 6miles of one another.

    Paperwork hassles are the worst.

    I also hate pruning jobs...tick Tock...tick TOC. I overbid those so I rarely get them. :)

    KG26 do you mean finding the shortest way from one house to the next?

    Not exactly, I mean finding ideal homes in need of my service that are closer together.

    My best advice is to spend a few days reading the archives here. Search any of the software/app threads. "Web developers" show up often enough with the exact question you have, although they usually disappear pretty quickly.

    Duly noted tonygreek I've been reading and searching the archives all weekend. And I'm glad to say you guys here are awesome, extremely responsive, and overall very helpful. I'm not like other developers who come once to never return. I know that to truly understand a problem let alone an entire industry will take more than a couple days. I'm here for the long haul.
