Has anyone ever repainted the underneath side of their mower deck? Hoping to do this in the winter and trying to plan ahead. What prep work is needed and will it come off the first time I scrape grass off ing the spring?

Why would you want to paint the underside of the mower deck? Over time the paint is going to come off.

I took every piece of anything off of my gateway last winter, sanded the decks top, sides and bottom, filled any scratches with bondo and primed then painted. And it still looks like new(when its clean) and even more when I put the new stickers on.
The reason to repaint is longer deck life, also you would not believe all the stuff that you find out needs replacing.

Why paint it? It came painted and I imagine all the paint is gone now. Just scape off at end of season and spray with WD 40 or whatever.
