wow, what a shocker.........there was this young guy, 22 yrs old. nice, very respectable young man, clean cut, nice kid. he wanted to start a lawn business. he did. young, strong, and motivated...he had over 100 accounts in his 2nd year in business. his 2 man operation grossed over $130,000 the second year. with minimal overhead, he pulled a real nice paycheck. this year would have been his 3rd year in business. i saw him yesterday. he said he gave up all but 30 of his accounts. the reason: his parents were harping on him, to get a "real job". this "real job" that his parents are now happy that he has, pays $10 an hour plus benefits, hrs are 8 am - 4 pm. what, are they thinking, and why, did he listen?:dizzy:

Odd. Some people just arent happy unless they see their kids devoting 25 years to a company that doesnt give squat about the workers. Do his parents have Union stickers on their bumpers?
Some have no appreciation for doing life differently or the entrepreneurial spirit.

Socialist Corporatism, we're brainwashed with this mentality in every direction we turn. You must work for a large corporation because you will perish if you don't!!!!!!

Ever wonder why a guy with a 2 paycheck work history can walk up to a car dealer and drive away with a new car but the self employed guy has to move mountains to get one? Let's not even mention a house loan.

Actually this system was developed in the 1930's by our friend Adolph Hitler and his National Socialist Workers Party, more commonly known as the NAZI party. It leaves control of the economy in the hands of corporations and control of the people in the hands of the government.

The death of the family farm, failure rate of small businesses, our credit system, tax structure, it all has followed this theme of socialist corporatism.

I can understand his parents, I agree with them completely. I would never recommend my kids to start small businesses when looking solely at the money/job security/working hours/ working conditions etc. But since I'm an independent person who likes to do their own thing, self employment was my only other option.

You have a hell of alot more job security when your your own boss that when you have someone above you who can fire you.Too bad the kid listened to his parents..he needs to cut the apron strings. Parents shouldent tell a young person how to run their lives. It's their life.

Is this you? Are you the one with the $10 per hour job? Do you sit in front of your computer in your cubicle salivating over what it would have been like had you been in lawn care? Now I know why you have so much time to post.

This post is something else, if the guy can gross over 130k and still listen to mom and dad what to do, he is an imaginary guy. period. Next time, dad said go pee, he is gonna do it for dad's sake.....:clapping:
