Always thought that paver pete was a phoney, just a pitch man for the shows they have each year. Ran into "paver Pete" from techo showcase today at my dealer today. Thought he was just a "sales pitch man" at the shows but turns out he really does work for techo all year, even said EXACTALY that to him. On the down side though, introduced himself as paver pete, Pete ------ from techo would have been just fine for me but i guess he is married to the name. overall nice guy, receptive to comments/feedback, answered questions i had regaurding techo bloc as a company. Was there to see new display recently installed (not the fake house facade) with a few other techo office guys. My techo dealer is number 1-2 depending on the year so they always get new displays very early on, and as a bonus to us contractors always have enough to get started on a job in stock, and the rest in 48hrs on a long stretch!

Just a little rant and rave about highlight of my boring average day

Pantano Nursery, would be a ride for you from Morris county unless really needed product right then and there.

He is a very nice guy.

As long as you never disagree with him in front of anyone.

He is the most passionate paver sales person you will ever meet / know. He knows hardscaping.

    He also knows his audience.

    And he is also funny.

I'll never ever forget the time a guy at the Techo Showcase called Pete out. For years Pete always said "never compact bedding sand". Then at the showcase he said "compact sand". And when a TECHO CUSTOMER, a contractor that buys Charlie's product, Charlie is the owner of Techo, called Pete out - Pete became noticeably agitated and was very rude to the man in front of all the attendees. After that episode I have never looked at Pete the same, his true colors shined bright.

Just was shocked when saw him today, always thought he was just a face for company reading script. To be honest seeing him outside of show makes me actually like the company a whole more than before knowing he's not a phony. Not saying I will exclusively use their product by any means or push it more than others, just got new found respect for their pitchman. Haven't had the experience that you did with him, but from seeing him in action at shows in the past when points are raised about his install methods etc and his reaction I can see what your saying.

Does anyone find it complete ridiculous how many different products Techo manufactures now? I will not recommend techo to a client because once they see the catolag they go nuts and have no clue what they even want. Sometimes keeping it simple is better.

I agree. We don't use techno but with the products we sell we always give them 2 choices they may like and one we know they will hate. Makes the decision process a little easier.

FĂ´rget the catalog, take a customer who was choosing between colors to a display and then all of a sudden back to square one with not knowing what they want
