Ok, so I started my first actual paver/formal retaining wall earlier today. I've done a rip rap wall with 44 pallets of concrete before, but that simple to one of these things.

Question is, how much higher (if any) do I lay the pavers above final grade before I go over it with a plate compactor?

I've got about 4-6 inches of crushed concrete as a base for the wall blocks, and actually sunk two courses of those underground. Backfilled with 6" of crushed concrete again.

Forgot to take pictures up today, but I'll get some up tomorrow.

ReCap: How much above grade (if any) do I lay the pavers onto the cushion sand before plate compacting?

    Thanks guys
