I'm going to be installing some brick pavers around an Ash tree. The tree is about 15" in diameter with a drip line about 18 ' out. I'm leaving a 4' area around the tree open for ground cover. One side has a blacktop out to the dripline-the rest will be pavers. There are no other trees that compete with the ash tree for light and water. My question-how much damage will this plan do to the tree? We have planted flowers under the tree over the years and I've never noticed many surface roots such as you would find under a Maple. So I wouldn't expect any problems with the pavers caused by the tree. Thanks, burlap
